Terry Tsue, MD FACS is internationally recognized for his surgical expertise in head and neck surgery and reconstruction, including the treatment of thyroid and salivary gland tumors and cancers.  He remains active in research in head and neck surgery, head and neck reconstruction and Otolaryngology education.  He currently serves as Vice President and Physician in Chief of the University of Kansas Cancer Center, Interim Chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology, and the Douglas A. Girod MD Endowed Professor of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Vice Chairman for Administrative Affairs for the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine.

He served previously on the ACGME Otolaryngology Residency Review Committee, as well as being the Chair of the ACGME RRC Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Milestones Committee.  He currently serves on the ACGME Board of Appeals.  After serving as Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Residency Program Director for over 10 years, he served in 2008-2012 as the University of Kansas School of Medicine Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education and ACGME Designated Institutional Official.

He has served as senior examiner and guest examiner for the American Board of Otolaryngology.  Dr. Tsue earned his undergraduate dual degree at Stanford University in Electrical Engineering and Biological Sciences, graduating first in his Engineering Class (Henry Ford Scholar), and Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi, whereupon he earned his medical degree at Johns Hopkins University (4th in class) and alpha omega alpha honors prior to completing his training in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Washington.  While at UW, he was an NIH NRSA-funded post-doctoral fellow at the Virginia Merrill Bloedel Hearing Research Center.

As a tenured full professor, he has practiced at the University of Kansas for over 20 years.
