Dr. Larsen is an Associate Professor of general otolaryngology with special interests in salivary gland disease/obstruction and obstructive sleep apnea in children and adults. He diagnoses and treats all acute and chronic disorders related to the ear, nose and throat, and performs surgery when medical management fails. He is a member of the KU Hospital Executive Committee and does oral cancer screening's annually at Spring Training for the Kansas City Royals.
He has research interests in salivary gland obstruction, pediatric ENT surgery, sense of smell in aging and dementia, and sudden hearing loss. He has published book chapters on Sleep Disorders in Geriatric Patients and Pediatric Sialendoscopy. He has also served on national committees of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the American Rhinologic Society. He is one of the first doctors in the region to implant Hypoglossal Nerve Stimulators in patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea who cannot tolerate or refuse to wear their CPAP device.
