Trauma and Fracture Care

Orthopedic trauma and fracture care is a distinct subspecialty in orthopedics.  The KU Orthopedic Trauma and Fracture Care team consists of fellowship trained and board-certified orthopedic surgeons who provide optimal care to traumatic fractures, dislocations and soft tissue injuries.  The range of patients who are treated run from simple fractures to the most complex and severe injuries.  Orthopedic trauma care is integrated with trauma physicians from other specialities within the medical center including general surgeons, trauma surgeons, plastic surgeons, rehabilitation and other medical specialists.  Our trauma team is part of the only verified Level I trauma center in the entire bi-state, Kansas City region.

Our surgeons use the most modern and sophisticated techniques and tools to return the patient to optimal condition in the least amount of time.  Services are provided primarily at the University of Kansas Hospital, 3901 Rainbow Boulevard, Kansas City, KS  66160; with out-patient, follow-up care in the orthopedic clinic located in Orthopedic Medical Office Building adjacent to the hospital on Olathe Blvd between Rainbow Blvd. and Cambridge St.  Rehabilitation is enhanced by skilled and certified physical and occupational therapists on site in the same facility.

Orthopedic Trauma care at KU is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and can be reached by calling 913-588-6100, or through the hospital transfer center at 913-588-9999. Follow-up appointments may be made by calling 913-588-6100.
