Sports Medicine

The Sports Medicine team at KU consists of fellowship-trained  and board-certified physicians who are dedicated to providing the best care in the area of sports medicine in the region.  The team treats individuals of all ages, as well as at all levels of physical and sporting activity.  The sports medicine team utilizes the most advanced technology and imaging available in the region.  Prompt treatment is stressed as this allows the athlete/patient to return back to activities, as soon as possible.  All of our patients are treated with the same care, whether they are weekend warriors, armchair quarterbacks or professional athletes.

Our sports medicine practice has recently moved to the new Kansas University Hospital - Indian Creek location at 10730 Nall, Suite 200 (just north of I-435) in Overland Park, KS.  Two of our physicians will continue to hold half-day clinics on the first floor of the Orthopedic Building on the main KU Med Center campus.  In addition to our physicians, there are dedicated sports medicine physical therapists and occupational therapists that see patients in our new, state-of-the physical therapy facility on the main KUMC campus in Kansas City, KS.

Concussion Program

Our new Concussion Program teams a variety of healthcare specialists to provide comprehensive concussion treatment, as well as caring for the overall health of the individual patient.

Youth Sports Medicine

Our newest area of emphasis in sports medicine is on young athletes.  Our Youth Sports Medicine group includes Randy Goldstein, D.O., and Mr. Doug Weisner, youth sports medicine director, as well as a number of experienced athletic trainers.
