Heather Goist Foley has been a practicing physical therapist for over 20 years, specializing in orthopedic physical therapy. She has been a member of the KU Orthopedic physical therapy team since 1996. She enjoys working with post -operative orthopedic clients, sports medicine injuries, and orthopedic extremity issues.
Heather earned her Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from Purdue University and her Master's in physical therapy from the University of Miami School of Medicine. She is adjunct faculty for the KU Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science (PTRS) Department where she lectures and assists in their orthopedic labs. She collaborates with DPT students on orthopedic research. She has served as co-author in two orthopedic publications one in the Journal of Athletic Training and one in Journal of Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy. She was the Steven J Rose research award recipient at the University of Miami.
Ms Goist Foley has been involved as a speaker in numerous orthopedic education programs including the KU Orthopedic Symposium and the Kansas City Orthopedic Study Group Lecture Series. She has spoken nationally at the APTA Combined Section meeting on Leadership and Development.Heather is a member of the APTA, KPTA, and a volunteer at the KU Jay Doc Free Clinic.
Heather, her husband Ken, and their daughters, Bria and Jillian, reside in Leawood, Kansas. She enjoys boating and water sports with her family, training for triathlons, skiing, gardening, and travel.
