The Neuro-Ophthalmology Clinic specializes in treating disorders related to the nervous system that affect vision, such as adult strabismus, multiple sclerosis, strokes, double vision, optic neuritis, optic neuropathy and brain tumors.

A referral from your primary care provider or specialist is needed to make an appointment, which can be faxed to 913-588-6655 or mailed to Thomas Whittaker, MD, KU Eye Center, 7400 State Line Road, Suite 100, Prairie Village, KS 66208.  Once the referral is made, an appointment can be made by calling KU Eye Center at 913-588-6600. 

In order to best treat you, please bring to your appointment the following:

  • MRI files on CD
  • Current health insurance card, including any information on authorizations or referral
  • A list of all the prescription medications and dosages you take
  • A list of any medication allergies
  • Any recent test results related to your condition
  • List of those you wish to receive correspondence related to your treatment at KU Eye, including their mailing address and fax number

It is also helpful to write down any questions you may have ahead of time, so please feel free to bring those in with you as well.
