The Office of Medical Education is responsible for program evaluation within the School of Medicine. The office develops and manages the system by which students evaluate all their modules and clerkships, including construction of evaluation and assessment tools, collection, analysis, management of student evaluation data, and preparation and distribution of results to the Phase I & II committees and the Education Council. The office also conducts the faculty evaluations for the Phase I curriculum and distributes the reports to each faculty member and their department chair.
As part of the program evaluation process, the office also compares student performance against national benchmarks and provides information on the physician workforce within the State. In addition the office functions as a consultant on educational research, survey design, test construction, and item analysis for students, residents and faculty.
