A User's Guide to WebSP

HOW TO SELECT YOUR SESSION TIME SLOT:

  1. You will receive an email in Groupwise from WebSP containing a link directing you to your WebSP personal sign-in page. You can access that link under the following conditions: If you are on-campus, you can Log on from your tablet as long as you are using the KUMC secure wireless network. If you are off-campus, you can log on and sign up as long as you have installed the KUMC Web VPN software using the following link: https://vpn.kumc.edu. Once you have logged on - click on that link and a drop-down menu will list all available sessions and indicate how many students can be assigned to each session. For example, if a session on 9-2-08, running from 1:00-4:00, shows 3/10 this means that on that date and time, 10 students can be assigned to that session, and 3 of the 10 slots are still open. Until the ratio changes to 0/10, you may continue to choose that session. Once the ratio becomes 0/10, then no more slots are available for that session.

    Before choosing a session, always double check your academic calendar for any conflicts. Some of the sessions in the Skills Lab are set at times when some students have other academic commitments.

    Once you choose a session, you must click submit at the bottom of the screen, and this then becomes your selection for the event.

  2. There are two ways to confirm or check your selection BEFORE an event scheduling deadline date:

    1. Click on the link found in the email and you will now see the time you selected in the primary selection bar. If the time you wanted is not in that box, your selection did not register; OR,

    2. Sign in to your home page on WebSP (http://websp.kumc.edu) and select from the scheduling tools option the event you are wishing to check. At any time before the event scheduling deadline, you may also change this selection by using this link. Once that deadline has passed, you will not be given access to change your session time.

ADDITIONAL WebSP TOOLS/TIPS:

  1. You may sign in to your homepage in WebSP to view grade reports, look at video, or look at schedules. All of these options are found from your personal home page (http://websp.kumc.edu). If you are participating in more than one event, each will be listed in a drop-down menu.

  2. The availability of the aforementioned information will be limited to specific times, as determined by your course faculty. For example, if you receive an email advising you that may watch a video or view reports for 30 days following an event, on day 31 if you try to access it you will get a message that states that there are "no video/reports available." The deadline will always be listed in the original email alerting you to the availability of the information.

  3. Save the email you used to schedule your session until after the event deadline has passed in case you want/need to switch your time later.

  4. If you delete an email that you needed in order to view information, you can visit your home page (http://websp.kumc.edu) and access your scheduled time.
