The Post-Baccalaureate Program is a 13-month structured academic program designed to strengthen the biological and social sciences foundation for students preparing for careers in medicine. This is a conditional admission program; as a result of the successful completion of the program with a 3.0 G.P.A., each participant will matriculate into The University of Kansas School of Medicine the following fall.
The program includes three academic semesters (summer, fall, & spring) followed by a summer pre-admissions program. During the academic semesters, participants will enroll in a full-time course of study. Three credit hours in the summer and 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters is considered full-time. Courses are taken on the Edwards/Lawrence campuses and are selected for each student based on their background in order to strengthen their foundation for medical school. In addition, students will participate, as a cohort, in team building, professionalism, time management, test-taking, and cultural competence/sensitivity seminars.
