Our home base, where the majority of residency training takes place, is the University of Kansas Hospital and Clinics. Located in Kansas City, Kansas the 650 bed hospital has a strong commitment to patient quality and service. In the 2013 US News and World Report rankings, the hospital was ranked as the No.1 hospital in Kansas City, the region and the state of Kansas. Newly renovated in 2011, the Labor and Delivery Suite has 11 family centered birthing rooms and two operative suites. Adjacent to the Labor Suite, the newly remodeled Level III nursery houses 28 private suites. The University of Kansas Cancer Center is located at the Westwood Campus and was awarded National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation in 2012.
The Medical Office Building (MOB) is adjacent to the hospital and opened in 2011. The six floor MOB houses outpatient clinics for over two hundred University of Kansas physicians. Physicians from the OBGYN generalist division, The Center for High Risk Pregnancy, The Center for Advanced Fetal Care and The Center for Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Repair are located in the MOB. Resident continuity clinics are also located in the MOB.
Newly opened in 2012, the Indian Creek Outpatient Surgical Center is located less than 30 minutes from the main campus. Physicians from the generalist division, Center for Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery and Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine perform surgery at the campus. Located across from the Indian Creek Surgical Center, the Overland Park Office provides a private practice setting away from the hustle and bustle of a large medical center while providing the quality, cutting-edge medical care you expect from our academic faculty members. The office includes a operative suite in which office based procedures and Faculty representatives at the location include our general OB/GYN division, the Center for Advanced Fetal Care, and the Center for Advanced Reproductive Medicine.
Stormont-Vail Hospital is home to residents during a three month rotation during their PGY3 year. The 580 bed hospital is in Topeka Kansas, located 70 miles to the west of Kansas City. Residents rotate with the physicians of the Lincoln Center Obstetrics and Gynecology. During the resident's time in Topeka, they receive excellent exposure to general gynecology and obstetrics in a private practice setting. Housing is provided for the resident during the rotation time in Topeka. Only the resident on the Topeka rotation covers call.
