Dr. Marium Holland is an assistant professor in the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center and is currently the Assistant Program Director for the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship.

Raised in West Virginia, Dr. Holland graduated from Washington and Lee University in Virginia with dual degrees in chemistry and Russian studies.  Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, she attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA where she completed both her Medical Doctorate and a Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2004.  She then pursued her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, concluding her studies there in 2008. Her subspecialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine was conducted at the University of Texas -Houston under the auspices of Susan Ramin and Sean Blackwell.  She finished her training in Houston in 2011, and moved on to practice as an attending at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC prior to joining the KU faculty in 2013.  She is board-certified in both General Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Holland has a strong clinical interest in cancer in pregnancy, as her fellowship program afforded her the unique opportunity of caring for many pregnant patients undergoing treatment at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Other clinical interests include chronic renal and autoimmune diseases. Her primary research interests are currently focused on the impact of advanced maternal age on pregnancy outcomes and the role of exercise in pregnancy for the management of chronic disease.

Outside of work, Dr. Holland is an avid triathlete and a multiple Ironman finisher. She is married to Edward Cantu, a professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
