Residency

Historically, the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Kansas was a six-year training program offering one residency position per year, a complement of six Neurosurgery Residents.
July 1, 2012 the training program’s length changed to seven years with a complement of seven residents.
Residents starting July 1, 2012 and thereafter will follow the seven-year curriculum. The program includes the integrated PGY-1 year.
The residency position is filled through ERAS and NRMP.
Each year we accept ERAS applications from September through November 15th.
