Surgery

Surgical removal of a brain tumor is frequently a crucial step in the management. Neurosurgeons at the University of Kansas use the latest technology to optimize patient care and outcome. Adjunctive measures during craniotomies frequently include neurophysiologic monitoring, cortical brain mapping and image guidance. In certain conditions, Awake craniotomies are performed for continuous monitoring of the patient's speech, motor and sensory functions.
