Dr. Giron received a BA from Rice University in Houston, Texas before completing his MD at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis. His Medicine internship, residency training in Internal Medicine, fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology as well as Neurology residency were taken at the University of Iowa where he later served as Instructor in Neurology. He took a fellowship in Biochemical Neuropharmacology at Duke University, Durham, North Carolina before joining the faculty at the University of Kansas Medical Center in 1979.
Dr. Giron's clinical interests are in the clinical pharmacology of stroke, recovery of function following neurologic injury, movement disorders and dementia.
He is stationed at the Kansas City VA Medical Center where he is Director, Electroencephalography Laboratory and Team Leader, Neurology Section.
