Site Survey Schedule
On Oct. 20–24, the medical education program will host a site survey from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the national accrediting body for educational programs leading to the M.D. degree in the United States and Canada.
The site survey allows an ad hoc team representing the LMCE to verify and update information compiled in the school's medical education database, clarify any issues that are unclear, view the environment and facilities for learning, and meet with administrators, faculty members and students. At the completion of the visit, the survey team will summarize its findings about the program's strengths and areas of noncompliance during an exit conference with Douglas Girod, M.D., executive vice chancellor of the University of Kansas Medical Center and interim executive dean of the School of Medicine.
