The Epigenetics Core provides expertise and services to design, perform and analyze epigenetic related experiments including PCR primer design, PCR and real-time PCR, genomic DNA extraction, bisulfate conversion, construct generation, ChIP, ChIP-seq and data analysis.

ChIP-Seq is a multi-step process that includes chromatin preparation, immunoprecipitation, DNA purification, ChIP DNA validation and sequencing library construction. This complicated procedure requires multiple days to complete. Our Core can save you time and money by doing this for you. In addition, the core directors are available to provide advice on research design to PKD researchers.

Equipment available

  • BioRad CFX connect Real-time System: This instrument is used for real-time PCR.
  • Sonicator: This instrument is used for chromatin DNA sonication.
  • NanoDrop Spectrophotometer: This instrument is used for RNA and DNA quantification.
  • Two computer workstations and one server are available for sequence analysis and alignment, PCR primer design, and RT-PCR data analysis.
