Fellowship Application Process

KUMC offers a one year clinical Palliative Medicine Fellowship Program. We currently offer 3 Adult Focused Palliative Medicine fellowship positions per year.  In addition, our program received ACGME approval for a 4th position-a pediatric palliative medicine fellowship track-for the 15-16 academic year.  This track is being developed in partnership with Children's Mercy Hospital.

Application requirements in addition to a completed application include:

  • Three letters of recommendation, one from residency program director
  • Applicants must have completed an ACGME or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)-accredited residency program in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry, radiation oncology, or surgery.

For Fellows applying for July 2016, our program will go through NRMP match using ERAS website. Timelines and details are available on the AAHPM website here.

NOTE: The University of Kansas School of Medicine Palliative Medicine fellowship program is not currently accepting candidates with H1B visa status.
