Clinical interests
I am a transplant nephrologist. I work with patients with end stage renal disease for their pre-transplant evaluation, manage patients during the peri-transplant period and care for them after their transplant.

Research interests
My research interests have developed from my clinical experiences. I strive to provide better care and quality of life to my patients through my research. Cognitive impairment is highly prevalent in patients with kidney diseases and affects self-esteem, quality of life and health outcomes. My research goal is to understand mechanisms underlying cognitive impairment in kidney diseases and develop management strategies. I am also interested in research related to organ allocation policies and their effects. Specifically, I am working on access to kidney transplantation for older patients with end stage renal disease. I also have interest in transplant immunology and impact of different immunosuppressive agents on transplant outcomes with special considerations for adverse effects of the medications and patients' quality of life while on the medications.
