BMT Fellowship

Cancer Cells

The Division of Cellular Therapeutics and Hematologic Malignancies at the University of Kansas Medical Center has a new one year Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) fellowship. It is a non-accredited program as there is no board certification in this subspecialty.

The University of Kansas has a busy and expanding Blood and Marrow Transplant program with dynamic and well-trained experts in the field. It is now the largest program in the region. Our nationally recognized program offers a full spectrum of innovative patient-centered treatment options that allow our patients and families to achieve the best possible outcomes. In 2010, we became a bone marrow collection site for the National Marrow Donor Program.

Fellows have an opportunity to see and take care of patients undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, which includes patients with hematological cancers, solid tumors, non-malignant hematological disorders and autoimmune diseases. He/she learns by attending rounds, conferences, and by reviewing reports with staff physicians on inpatient and outpatient services.
