Program Description and Resources Overview

Our program seeks to educate residents to be outstanding practitioners, lifelong learners, critical thinkers and patient advocates. We provide a well-rounded core curriculum that meets the requirements of the ACGME while being diversified and flexible enough to allow every resident the education which best suits his or her career goals. Our residents receive their clinical training time at three affiliated hospitals:

University of Kansas Hospital

• The University of Kansas Hospital (KUMED): 50 to 70 percent 

• Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center (KCVAMC):  30 to 40 percent

• Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Affairs Medical Center (DDEVAMC) in Leavenworth: One to two months

All residents also have opportunities and are strongly encouraged to carry out research projects with KU Medical Center clinical and basic science researchers.
