Integrative Nutrition cooking class

Integrative Medicine's fully-equipped kitchen provides an opportunity for patients, staff and students of KU Medical Center to learn "hands-on" how to prepare the most health-supportive foods using healthy cooking techniques.

Cooking class participants will:

  • Discover how to prepare foods that support specific health conditions such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes and other diet-related conditions.
  • Gain confidence, knowledge and skills in using healthy cooking techniques to prepare whole, minimally processed foods
  • Try delicious foods and collect exciting new recipes that can prevent and alleviate disease
  • Experience how cooking and eating healthy can be simple and enjoyable

• Thursday, April 4th, 12:00-1:00 p.m., $25
Simple Eating and Digestive Healing:  Curried Turkey Tenderloin and Asparagus with Sweet Potato Mash, and Stuffed Red Peppers with a twist. Chocolate Avocado Pudding Dessert. Gluten- Free, Dairy-Free.

A New Twist on Italian
• Thursday, May 2nd, 12:00-1:00 p.m., $25
Beyond Pasta, Pizza and Breadsticks: Gluten-Free Pizza, Spaghetti Squash with Turkey Tomato Sauce, and Balsamic Salad.  Also, taste-test gluten-free pastas. Gluten-Free.

Creative Cooking with Non-Starchy Veggies
• Thursday, June 13th, 12:00-1:00 p.m., $25
More Than Just Steamed Broccoli and Cheese:  Hearty meals and creative cooking with seasonal vegetables and herbs. Curried Cauliflower and Lentils, Seasoned Quinoa and Seasonal Fruit Dessert. Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Vegetarian.
