Dr. Duncan earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Kansas, and completed her internship at the University Mississippi Medical Center/VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Her research interests relate to health psychology. This includes, but is not limited to, behavioral health needs of rural/underserved populations, technology-assisted clinical and educational behavioral health services, disease prevention, adherence to and maintenance of behavior change, epigenetics, social influences on health, music and nutrition and mental health, translating research/education to practice, public policy and clinical practice, and health advocacy. Areas of clinical practice within health psychology include using cognitive and behavioral strategies toward weight, stress, pain, anxiety, and depression management and treatment.
