Created in 2003, the Writing Consult Center (WCC) provides teaching and editing services to the faculty and investigators at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Its goal is to increase faculty productivity in grants, scholarly publications, and research projects.
Workshops, small seminars, and individual instruction are available to faculty members throughout the year. Teaching includes the nuts-and-bolts of good scientific and medical writing to the skills needed to edit the finished product of journal manuscripts and grant proposals.
The Writing Consult Center is part of the Department of History and Philosophy of Medicine. Dr. Martha Montello is the creator and director of the WCC. It is supported by the Office of the Dean of the School of Medicine, the Office of Faculty Development, and the Department of History and Philosophy of Medicine.
The Writing Consult Center is located at 2010 Robinson on the second floor. Its offices house facilities, equipment, and resources for both individual consultations and small group sessions.
