BMT Fellowship

The Division of Hematology and Oncology at the University of Kansas Medical Center has a new one year Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) fellowship. It is a non-accredited program as there is no board certification in this subspecialty.

The University of Kansas has a busy and expanding Blood and Marrow Transplant program with dynamic and well-trained experts in the field. It is now the largest program in the region. Our nationally recognized program offers a full spectrum of innovative patient-centered treatment options that allow our patients and families to achieve the best possible outcomes. In 2010, we became a bone marrow collection site for the National Marrow Donor Program.

Fellows have an opportunity to see and take care of patients undergoing blood and marrow transplantation, which includes patients with hematological cancers, solid tumors, non-malignant hematological disorders and autoimmune diseases. He/she learns by attending rounds, conferences, and by reviewing reports with staff physicians on inpatient and outpatient services.

We are currently accepting applications for the July 1, 2013, start date.

4. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (from supervising physicians most familiar with your professional development)
5. Medical School Transcripts
6. USMLE Step I, Step II, and Step III scores
7. For FMG applicants — copies of ECFMG certificate, VISA, EAD/EAC, etc.

• NOTE: The University of Kansas School of Medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology does accept candidates with a J-1 visa sponsored through the ECFMG or applicants with a permanent resident status.
