• Research interests center primarily around examining costs associated with providing healthcare services via interactive tele-video systems in both rural (Tele-Oncology) and urban (TeleKidcare®: school-based telemedicine) settings. Other interests include health service delivery issues related to practicing via telemedicine and communication with patients via telemedicine. Most recently, funding received from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) has provided an opportunity to study the impact of the Cancer Information Service (CIS) on cancer patients' decision-making.
• As the only cancer alliance in the Heartland, the Midwest Cancer Alliance will foster collaboration and provide strong support to community oncologists in an effort to enhance care for patients across the region. Patients will have access to cutting-edge clinical trials, innovative prevention, early detection and survivorship techniques, cancer screenings and the delivery of comprehensive care right in their own communities.
