Arshia Khan Ahmed, MHA Arshia Khan Ahmed graduated from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte with a BSBA in Finance and a Master's in Health Administration. She interned during her graduate studies at various hospitals in the Carolina Medical Center network and is actively involved with charity work and volunteering in the community. She is currently a research assistant in the Research Division of Family Medicine and assisting with community health and resident and medical student research projects. Her on-going community health projects include evaluating a bi-state HPV vaccine initiative funded by the Health Care Foundation of Kansas City and the REACH Healthcare Foundation and assisting with rural healthcare and health literacy survey work. |

Alicia Brooks Alicia is working as Project Director on a grant project that addresses cancer disparities in rural Latino and American Indian populations in Kansas through outreach, collaboration with community partners, education and various research projects and clinical trials. She has attended both KU and K-State. At K-State, Alicia worked as a teacher of Spanish language and culture and most recently worked conducting a community health needs assessment of the Latino population in Southwest Kansas. |

Marina Carrizosa-Ramos Marina earned a BA in Psychology from Universidad Catolica Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion, in Asuncion, Paraguay. Before joining Research Division, Marina worked for Project EAGLE Early Head Start, for 10 years. She implemented the benefits of the program to families and children, in a variety of settings. She published a paper in the AB Initio International, Notes from the Field (Summer 2008) from the Brazelton Institute, Children's Hospital, Harvard University, about her experience with the Brazelton Neonatal Developmental Scale and the impact in her practice as an Early Educator. She is currently recruiting study subjects for the Touch to Screen project. Marina loves working on programs related to community health education that benefit families and their children. Marina's cultural background and medical interpretation training are an asset for any program |

Megan Eckles, MPH Megan Eckles graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a B.A. in Psychology. She completed her Masters of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Kansas Medical Center. While earning her MPH, Megan worked in the Research Division of Family Medicine as a Graduate Research Assistant and is currently a Research Associate. Megan's academic and research interests are in Preventive Medicine and Public Health. She plans to pursue a doctorate in Public Health in the future. |

Aaron Epp, MA Aaron Epp is a Project manager at KUMC's family medicine research division. He has a M.A. (Sociology) from Wichita State University and is currently pursuing a PhD in Health Policy and Management at KUMC. He has worked in the research division for 4 years (wow, it doesn't seem that long). His role in the research division has included survey design, computer programming/instrument development, graphic design, data management, statistical analysis, staff training, grant writing, networking, etc. He is currently working on the NIH R01 project - "Touch to Screen". |

Amber Haq, MBA Amber Haq is the Senior Coordinator; she provides administrative and operational support to the Research Team. She received a Master's Degree in Business Administration and her BSBA in Marketing and Economics from University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She manages all event planning for research division. She is responsible for coordinating and organizing all of division's administrative activities. |

Fanta Kuhlman, MBA Fanta Kuhlman, MBA, is a Grants/Contracts Administrator in the Research Division of the Department of Family Medicine. She holds an MBA and is currently pursuing Masters in Public Health from University of Des Moines Medical School. Ms. Kuhlman's primary responsibilities include preparation of proposals and grant applications, reviews budget of a project or program for which funding is sought and maintains contact with grant-making organizations during their review of a submitted grant application in order to be able to supply additional supportive material. She manages the process of supplying progress reports when required by a grant-making organization that has funded a project or program. She is responsible for the fiscal management of grants and contracts. |

Lee Marquay Letha (Lee) Marquay is Project Manager for the Sunflower Scholar's Program Grant and the Academic Units Grant. Lee comes to the Research Division of Family Medicine with 20+ years of experience in administration, grant and project management. Prior to joining the Research Division Lee worked for Dartmouth College as a Project Coordinator for The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI) and before that for the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH as a grant specialist. Lee attended Park College in Parkville, MO and the University of NH and has a BS in Management and Project Management. |

Aura Morgan, MS, MPH Born in Panama, Republic of Panama; Aura began her career with a degree in Education as a high school Language Instructor, moved to the US and graduated from Baker University with a Masters of Science in Management. Aura completed her Masters of Public Health (MPH) at University of Kansas Medical Center, School of Public Health. Her Capstone project was "Training Promotores de Salud (health promoters) for Door to Door Community Assessment". Was the Program Manager for the Smoking Cessation Program at KU Department of Preventative Medicine; and prior as the Outreach Manager for National Cancer Institute, Cancer Information Service, servicing the States of Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Illinois on cancer issues in both English and Spanish. Previously, the Program Director at St. Luke's Breast Cancer Center Mobile Mammography Program, screening underserved women of Kansas and Missouri. Served on many community health organizations, a founding member of the Hispanic Coalition of Women Against Cancer and currently on the Board. A present board member of the Health for All Latinos Health Coalition, as Vice-Chair on Access to Health division. Presently, a Research Instructor with the Department of Family Medicine and with the University of Kansas School of Medicine, Office of Cultural Enhancement and Diversity, Aura also has a faculty appointment with the KU School of Nursing and teaches Medical Spanish to medical and nursing students. |

Angela Watson, MBA Angela Watson is Project Manager in the Research Division of Department of Family Medicine. She is a retired Navy Veteran who served twelve years in Naval Medicine in the fields of Aerospace Physiology and Shipboard Healthcare as an instructor and practitioner. She graduated in 2005 from Rockhurst University with a Master's in Business Administration focused in Health Care Leadership. Ms. Watson has served as an adjunct instructor at Rockhurst University teaching graduate courses in Policy and Politics of Health Care. Most recently she held the position of Revenue Officer with the Internal Revenue Service, where she worked to pursue equitable resolution of employment and individual tax issues while ensuring compliance with the Federal Tax Code. Ms. Watson's interests lie in the fields of Public Health and International Affairs. Her future plans include pursuing a doctorate in Public Health. |

Andrew Witt Andrew studied Sociology and International Studies (focusing on Comparative Political and Social Systems) at the University of Kansas. His academic pursuits there involving statistical analysis and socio-economic forces inform his professional pursuits with the Research Division. Andrew is currently interested in the implementation of new technologies and electronic communications, especially as means of disseminating health information. At the time of this writing, he is managing and supporting tailored health messaging projects. He enjoys volunteer work, supporting local/community organizations, and spends free time with loved ones, discovering new music, the arts, and great cuisine. |
