Mandatory Classes to achieve Certificate of Completion
Class 1: The 10,000-foot view of Diabetes, 2 hours, Group
What you've always wanted to know about diabetes, but your doctor didn't have time to tell you.
Class 2: Have your Pizza and Eat it, Too, 2 hours, Group
How to (get away with what you) eat without your blood sugars telling on you! And - really - do you need to avoid everything that's white?
Class 3: How to Keep Both of Your Feet (And All of your Toes, Too), 2 hrs, Group
Special guest Dr. Backes, PharmD, explains what all the pills are for. Also learn the Myths & Facts of Insulin (is it addictive or does it mean that you've failed?) and diabetes-related complications to look out for.
Class 4: "I Hate Pricking My Finger" & Graduation Par-tay!, 2 hours, Group
The class in which we dispel the myth that if your numbers are high that you are a bad person, and other myths, too. Also find out if the numbers really mean anything and what to do with them if they do. To end, we'll all enjoy cake, fruit punch, gifts, and goals. (Yes, we remember that you have diabetes.) We'll embarrass you with a lovely ceremony that you'll wish your mom attended.
