The Spina Bifida Transition Clinic is designed for children, adolescents and young adults from birth to age 22.
In those diagnosed with it, spina bifida affects the spinal cord and causes some problems with functioning and paralysis, and/or lack of sensation in the area below the site where the spine is malformed. This is a generic condition that occurs prior to birth.
