Matthew Braun received his bachelor of science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and his master of arts degree in Communication Disorders at St. Louis University in St. Louis. He has worked in a self-contained language classroom in the public schools, the therapy services unit at St. Louis Children's Hospital as well as in private practice prior to joining the faculty at the CCHD.

He has specialized in assessment and treatment of communicative disorders in the pediatric population. He has experience working with children with various developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders across multiple environments. He currently works on a transdisciplinary team that assesses children and provides consultation for developmental disabilities with a primary focus in autism spectrum disorders.
