Carole Prather received her MS in family child nursing from the University of Missouri in 1979. She has extensive experience as a clinical nurse specialist with neonates, children, adolescents and families in inpatient, outpatient and home care settings.

Prather completed the Family Nurse Practitioner program at UMKC in 2000 and is board certified as a family nurse practitioner. She participates in the transdisciplinary teams that provide evaluation and consultation as well as in the medical management and follow-up of the children and families.
