The classroom is what one traditionally views as a "place of learning." Although much of what a resident will learn takes place on his or her various rotations, there is still a need for an up-to-date and comfortable classroom learning environment. This classroom utilizes the latest in video and computer assisted presentation modalities with full auditory support. All presentations are shown on large screen video monitors, whether they are completely computer generated, video presentations of premade slides, or overhead projections. The overhead presentations are made with the use of ELMO, which is an overhead camera that gives real time imaging on video of premade transparencies or writing by the presenter. These options provide faculty and residents a wide selection of presentation forms for interesting and informative lectures and markedly enhance teaching efforts.
