Clinical and Professional Interests Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV); difficult airway management; fiberoptic intubation; anesthesia for burn patients. Dr. Kovac has served as chairman of the sub-committee on Equipment Monitoring and Engineering Technology for the American Society of Anesthesiologists, as well as being an adjunct member for the Committee on Scientific Papers. He has been a member of the committee on PONV Consensus Guidelines for the Society of Ambulatory Anesthesia (SAMBA). He is secretary for the Anesthesia History Association and is an Affiliate Professor in the Dept. of History and Philosophy of Medicine. Dr. Kovac also serves as an editorial reviewer for several medical journals.
