Our two-year fellowship will prepare you for the career you want in child and adolescent psychiatry. After completing our training program, you can pursue a range of exciting opportunities in the field such as academic medicine, inpatient child psychiatry, community mental health and many other areas of expertise.

Our faculty are supportive, helpful, possess strong teaching abilities and serve as great role models for our fellows. We value our fellows and we're responsive to their input and suggestions on ways we can enhance the program and the training experience.

Beyond offering a wide variety of training experiences in diverse care settings, one unique aspect of our program is our longstanding commitment to telemedicine and telepsychiatry. For more than 20 years, we’ve trained our fellows in the use of this cutting-edge technology, providing them with an excellent opportunity to learn this important skill while connecting with people in rural Kansas. This one-of-a-kind experience throughout the second year of the program includes a weekly morning rural telemedicine clinic with patients at local school sites.

"This is a great clinical program. That’s what I tell everybody. We have a wide variety of sites we go to. We see all sorts of different types of clinical presentations. There’s no group of patients that we don’t ever get to see, and we get to learn how to ensure we can take care of all types of patients."
