Societies Overview

ACE Curriculum - The KU Medical Alumni Societies consist of eight societies: six on the Kansas City campus, one on the Wichita Campus, and on on the Salina Campus. Societies are comprise of students from each class year, with new students assigned to a Society at the very onset of their first year, and faculty members who serve as their PBL facilitator and Coach. In addition to elected student leaders, each Society has a faculty Director that serves as an Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and four Assistant Directors on the Kansas City and Wichita campuses and one Assistant Director on the Salina campus. These Directors and Assistant Directors aim to provide a healthy learning environment, monitor and evaluate competency and academic progression and coordinate Society social gatherings with their students leaders. 

Legacy Curriculum - Classes of 2018, 2019 and 2020: The KU Medical Alumni Societies consist of eight societies: six on the Kansas City campus, one on the Wichita campus, and one on the Salina campus. Societies are comprised of students from each class year, with new students assigned to a Society at the very outset of their first year, and faculty members who serve as advisors these students. In addition to elected student leaders, each society has a Faculty Director and Associate Faculty Directors. These leaders establish and plan the events for the year including professionalism initiatives, lunch meetings, social gatherings, and seasonal celebrations.
