Students are required to meet with their advisors in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years, twice per year - once each semester. You can find your advisor by going to your Society's web page, then "students" and finding your name.
Your advisor will guide you through your advising session. This is a chance for you to have a conversation about how things are going - professionally, personally, and academically. The session is not graded and the content is not reported to any office or individual. Take advantage of this time to seek advice from a faculty member who likely has experience in navigating medical school and its challenges.
Questions you might ask:
How did you find work/life balance while in medical school?
What did you find most challenging in medical school and how did you overcome it?
How did you chose your specialty?
How does your specific specialty affect your work/life balance?
Students must complete two discrete advising sessions per year.
The fall semester advising deadline for M2 and M3 students is Friday, October 6, 2017.
The spring semester advising deadline for M2 and M3 students is Friday, March 9, 2018.
