Success of the Kansas Medical School Loan Program

The Kansas Medical Student Loan program was established by the State Legislature to encourage students to practice primary care in Kansas. Loans are awarded on an annual basis in return for agreements to practice medicine in Kansas after residency (more information about obtaining such a loan is available here).

As of November 2013, 247 doctors had completed their service obligation. A detailed report on the number, location and status of Kansas Medical Student Loan recipients is posted here.
