Dr. William Cathcart-Rake was named director of the KU School of Medicine-Salina in March 2010.
Dr. Cathcart-Rake is a native of Manhattan, Kan., and attended grade school and high school in Southern California. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado in Boulder before returning to Kansas for medical school.
After completing medical school, an internal medicine residency and a clinical pharmacology fellowship at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., he moved to Salina, where he established a practice at the Mowery Clinic in 1979. Currently he devotes much of his time to a medical oncology practice at Tammy Walker Cancer Center.
He is certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Southwest Oncology Group, and Kansas Medical Society.
