The KU School of Health Professions Student Recognition Ceremony will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas.

Instructions for Graduating Students

As a recognition ceremony, and not a graduation event, family and friends are close enough at this event to actually see students, and this is an opportunity for individual acknowledgement of student accomplishments. There is no limit to the number of guests, and tickets are not required.

The University of Kansas Commencement will be Sunday, May 17, in Lawrence, Kansas. Students are encouraged to participate in both ceremonies.

  1. Prior to the event, please read the ceremony guide and instructions for students. Bookmark the page and/or print it for later reference, if necessary. Please note there is NO DRESS REHEARSAL. These instructions serve as the rehearsal and contain details graduating students should know ahead of time and share with their families and friends.

  2. Graduating students planning to attend the event: please check to verify your name is on the seating chart PDF document icon (will be posted here in late spring). If your name is missing, please email Christi Jones or call her at 913-588-5275 (TTY 711).
