Mildred Oligbo, PT, DPT, has clinical background in school-based therapy and pediatrics, chronic pain management, acute care, and orthopedics. In KU's doctorate program in physical therapy, she currently teaches the pediatric course introducing fundamental concepts in examination, evaluation and treatment of pediatric clients. She also teaches the documentation and health informatics course and assists with other courses. In addition, she serves as coordinator for the integrated clinical experiences associated with the second year of the program.
Oligbo is the physical therapy discipline supervisor for the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities program at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Oligbo began her academic career at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria where she earned a bachelor's degree. In 2006, she received her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kansas. She is currently working on a doctorate degree in therapeutic science at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Oligbo’s research interests are focused on participation and health promotion in children with disabilities. She is also interested in educational research, active learning strategies, and integration of clinical and didactic courses in the physical therapy program curriculum.
