The Mid-Year Assembly of States provides an opportunity for nurse anesthesia students to develop expertise in federal legislative and regulatory issues and to learn about the legislative process. The event, hosted annually by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, included discussion in Federal health care programs, Medicare reimbursement and access the rural anesthesia.
Three students from KU's Nurse Anesthesia program organized the session with legislators in conjunction with National Nurse Anesthetist Week. More
Saturday, September 11, was a beautiful day for a tailgate! Alumni, students and faculty joined together for a great time – and the Jayhawks got a huge win against a nationally ranked Georgia Tech team! The tailgate attracts more alumni every year, which makes it a great way to reconnect with former students and support KU at the same time.
Medical Mission a First for Nurse Anesthesia Students
Three students from the KU Nurse Anesthesia program joined forces with the Kansas City-based Medical Mission Foundation to provide medical services in impoverished areas of Guatemala. The students, under supervision of volunteer anesthesiologists, performed regional and general anesthesia techniques to patients of all ages in a challenging environment. STORY
