How to Apply

This page is a guide to the application process. Please carefully read the requirements and proceed to the online application link down the page.

Applications should be submitted by February 1 for priority consideration. Review of applications will continue beyond February 1 until all the available seats have been filled for the next class. Students begin the program in the fall semester only. Applications to the program will be considered in accordance with the admission requirements of the KU School of Health Professions and the KU Office of Research and Graduate Studies.

Before you start the online application

It will be helpful if you have the following information ready before starting the online application:

  1. Graduate Record Examination (GRE):Your application cannot be completely processed until we have received GRE scores. Use institution code 6895 to have an official copy of your scores sent directly from the testing service to KU Medical Center.

  2. English Language Proficiency: All applicants whose native language is not English must provide scores from either the TOEFL or IELTS testing systems. The test must have been sent to KU by the testing service using ETS school code 6895. Photocopies of scores will not be accepted. Please review the information for international students before applying.

  3. References: Have available the names and contact information of three references, including email address. Three recommendation letters are required from individuals who can comment on your ability to successfully pursue graduate education. Make sure they are willing to submit the reference electronically.

  4. Personal Statement:Prepare, copy, and paste into the application a one page personal statement that describes your educational goals and career objectives.

  5. Research and Work Experience: Prepare, copy and paste into the application a resume. Include a history of your research and work experience. Concluding with your present position, list your employment history and experience. Include all research and laboratory experience, even if you did not hold a paid position. Please list any honors or awards you may have received. Please list, in chronological order, the titles, authors, and complete references for any publications or abstracts on which your name appears.

  6. Transcripts: Arrange to have one official copy of each transcript from every college and university that you have attended sent directly to KU Medical Center at the following address:

Online Application and Fee

Note: applications will not be reviewed until all required materials have been received by the program's office. Partial or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Using the link above, please submit your completed application and pay the $60 application fee. The application fee is paid when you click SUMBIT from the online application. Applicants can pay by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express or by electronic check. U.S. banks only. Application fees are non-refundable. Electronic checks will be held for approximately six business days while the check clears.
