Curriculum

The program prepares students to meet the academic and clinical requirements for the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. The degree is designed to be completed in 4 years (including summers, with a common entry point in fall semester). A minimum of 102 credit hours including academic course work, independent research, and clinical practicum is required.

To obtain the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, a minimum of 1820 clock hours of supervised clinical experience must be completed while enrolled in an accredited educational program. KU's doctorate in audiology program is designed to provide the required clinical experience. Specific guidelines for certification are contained in the ASHA Certification and Membership Handbook, available on the ASHA website www.asha.org.
