January 15 for summer or fall semester admission.
The doctorate in audiology prepares students to meet the academic and clinical requirements for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association's Certificate of Clinical Competence. The program is designed to be completed in four years (including summers, with a common entry point in fall semester). A minimum of 99 credit hours, including academic course work, independent research, and clinical practicum, is required.
To obtain the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, a minimum of 1820 clock hours of supervised clinical experience must be completed while enrolled in an accredited educational program. KU's doctorate in audiology is designed to provide the required clinical experience. Specific guidelines for certification are contained in the ASHA certification and membership handbook, available on the ASHA website www.asha.org.
