Angela Couture, M.S., RHIA, joined the faculty in the Department of Health Information management in 2016 and brings a diverse background in quality and performance improvement. Most recently, Couture was a performance improvement specialist for a local hospital. In this role, she was responsible for auditing and reporting on patient care and quality metrics to hospital leadership. She also implemented department-specific performance improvement projects in collaboration with various hospital departments.
Couture has also managed quality assurance projects for an insurance software development company. She has experience developing and implementing a detailed testing strategy across system design/build/test cycles as well as defect tracking and reporting. Additional expertise includes developing and reporting project quality metrics and analyzing the software development life cycle for areas of process improvement.
Couture earned her bachelor's degree in health information management from the University of Kansas in 2014 and a master's degree in instructional design and technology from Emporia State University in 2019. She plans to begin her doctorate in health sciences with concentration in leadership and organizational behavior from A.T. Still University in spring 2020.
