School of Health Professions > Health Information Management > Minor in health care management
This minor introduces students to relevant topics for health care managers. Students are trained in privacy, security and confidentiality practices, as well as related requirements for health care professionals.
Students examine the uniquely complex financial and reimbursement systems and the roles of quality and performance improvement in health care. They also gain knowledge and experience in health information systems – specifically, electronic health care records and data management.
The minor requires students to complete 18 credit hours (6 courses) and earn a grade of “C” or higher in each of the courses.
The courses are offered online through KU's Blackboard learning management system.
