man works at computer on health records and chartsIn KU's two-year bachelor's program on the KU Medical Center campus in Kansas City, Kan., students work with the latest technology at a top academic institution and the region's premier academic health center, The University of Kansas Hospital. To be eligible for admission to this program, students must complete their first two years of undergraduate prerequisites from KU's Lawrence campus or another qualified accredited institution.

Students on the Lawrence campus interested in this program may declare pre-health information management as their major which in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. All students need to contact the KU Department of Health Information Management for assignment to an adviser as soon as possible in his or her college career.

Graduates are eligible to sit for the American Health Information Management Association National Registry Examination that allows the successful candidate to be officially recognized as a Registered Health Information Administrator and may use the RHIA credential.
