RRS Award Winners |
The winner of the Failla Memorial Award for 2001 is Howard D. Thames, Department of Biomathematics, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. The Failla Award was established in 1962-1963 to honor the late Gioacchino Failla, one of the founding fathers of the Society and its second president, and is given to an outstanding member of the radiation research community in recognition of significant contributions to radiation research. Dr. Thames will give his Failla Lecture, "Questions Related to Cells, Molecules, and Radiotherapy", at the RRS Annual Meeting on Monday, April 23. ![]()
Kevin M. Prise of the Gray Laboratory Cancer Research Trust is this year's winner of the Michael Fry Research Award. He will speak on Wednesday, April 25. The award was established in 1969 as the RRS Research Award to recognize investigators aged 41 or under in the field of radiation research.
