Education and Experience

Purdue University, Lafayette, IN, Ph.D., 1971
Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Postdoctoral Fellow in Developmental Biology and Cancer, 1971-1973; Research Associate in Biophysics, 1973-1975).
University of Kansas, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology since 1975.

Major Research Interests

My major research interests involve protein structure/function relationships, in particular folding and assembly of multisubunit protein complexes such as tubulin. One current area of emphasis is the molecular genetics and structural analysis of phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins. This is a collaborative effort with George M. Helmkamp, Jr. . I am also interested in heat shock proteins and their relationship to stress and aging in the heart.
