Elizabeth S. Yaffe, M.D., Clinical Assistant Professor, has been a staff psychiatrist at the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center since 2005. She received her M.D. from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2001 where she received the Donald W. Goodwin, M.D. Memorial Award. She was a resident in psychiatry at KUMC in from July 2001 to June 2005 during which time she served as the KCVA Chief Resident, was awarded the Student Voice Award for Excellence in Teaching, and received the Shawn M. Storm, M.D. Memorial Award for excellence in patient care. At the Kansas City VA Medical Center, Dr. Yaffe supervises residents on the inpatient psychiatry service, lectures to medical students, and and occasionally works with residents on elective rotations in the area of post traumatic stress disorder.
