John H. Wisner M.D. joined The University of Kansas Medical Center as part of the Psychiatry Faculty in 1979 while serving at the Kansas City VA Medical Center as Assistant Professor. Dr. Wisner was promoted to Associate Professor in 1997, and continued to work at the VA until November 2000. He now is the full-time Director of the Adult Psychiatry Inpatient Unit at The University of Kansas Medical Center. He specializes in forensic psychiatry. He was ordained by the Catholic Church in 1972 and serves as active clergy with a local parish.
